Women’s Fall Season Highlights: 

Alabama women’s tennis’ No. 34 nationally ranked doubles team has earned their way into the 2016 ITA National Collegiate Indoor Championships in Flushing, N.Y. held on November 3-6. Senior Erin Routliffe and sophomore Andie Daniell won in straight sets against Ole Miss’ Natalie Suk and Anna Vrbenska, ending the match score at 6-0,6-1 in the 2016 ITA Regional Collegiate Indoor Championships in Tuscaloosa, AL. This win marks the duos second consecutive year claiming the ITA Southern Regional Doubles Championships. The link below is available for live streaming and scoring:

During the Rice Invitational in Houston, Texas, Danielle Spielmann was crowned champion of her respective singles division. Spielmann clinched the match over Rice’s Fernanda Astete, 4-6, 6-0, 6-4.

Freshman Maddie Pothoff won her respective singles draw in the Roberta Alison Fall Classic, defeating Maria Toran Ribes of Kansas in the three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.

Men’s Fall Season Highlights:

Alabama Men’s Tennis hosted the 2nd annual 4-In-The-Fall with Columbia, Memphis and Tulane visiting Tuscaloosa over the Kent State football weekend. Impressive performances leading to Alabama victories were displayed by redshirt sophomore Langford Hills, junior Matthew Rossouw and senior Ritchie Kruunenberg.

Returning from successful surgery and rehab this summer, a now healthy sophomore Mazen Osama reached the semifinal of both the singles and doubles (with junior Matthew Rossouw) at the ITA Southern Regional Championships. Osama played 9 matches over 3 days which bodes well for the upcoming season.

The SEC Coaches Classic presented by Hampton Inn by Hilton takes place at the Alabama tennis facility November 4-6. This will be the final fall tournament for the Crimson Tide and feature 10 out of 13 SEC teams. It’s a prelude to the Spring season and will feature many top players from each school.
