We changed leadership in 2021, I am honored to serve as your President, Cooper and Roberta Leach are serving as co Vice President, Nita Stegall remains the Treasurer and Terria Steele remains the Secretary.
2021 Highlights
- We held the Emily Baker Women’s Classic in February. We had 132 participants and raised over $20,000.
- We worked with Eagles Wings and United Cerebral Palsy athletes during the year and had training for the tennis pros and volunteers.
- We offered tennis lessons for children of the Boys and Girls Club at TTC.
- We were in 5 elementary schools during PE teaching tennis to 4th and 5th graders.
- We awarded 20 Emily Baker Youth Scholarships totaling $8,300.
- Caleb Kim won the National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) Essay for 10 and under boys.
- Calvin Kim won the National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) Essay for Alabama.
- Greg Edwards won USTA Alabama Junior Coordinator of the Year
- Wendy Buchheit won USTA Alabama Volunteer of the Year.
Our annual Meet, Greet and Eat (MGE) is scheduled for February 22, 2022 at the Tuscaloosa Tennis Center at 5:30 pm. You can RSVP at www.tuscaloosatennis.com/mge
The Emily Baker Women’s Classic will be held February 22nd – 25th, 2022 at TTC. Sign up to play and to be a patron. We will also hold the patrons and player party with the MGE on February 22, 2022. You can RSVP at www.tuscaloosa.com/mge.
