Next up for our Summer Update is Alba Cortina-Pou. Alba is a Transfer from Texas Tech University and will be an incoming Sophomore. Alba is from Blanes, Spain.
Hello everyone!
I am super excited to come to Alabama and meet you all! When I went to visit Alabama, I fell in love with the campus and knew that it would be the perfect place for me; everyone that I met was really nice and I felt like I wanted to be part of this big and unique family.
During this summer I’ve been mostly at home except two weeks that I went on vacation. I am from Blanes, which is a seaside town located in Spain. In June I was practicing and playing some national tournaments as well. Then, I went back to the US with my family because we went on vacation during two weeks; it was awesome because we did a road trip through California and Arizona. We loved the Grand Canyon, I think that it is one of the most amazing things that I’ve ever seen! We also spent our first 4th of July in America, which was really cool because at the moment we were in San Francisco and we were able to see the fireworks. Then, since I came back home, I’ve been practicing and working out in order to get ready for the upcoming season! This week I’ve been playing another national tournament and today I won the final playing very good; moreover, I will play two more tournaments before coming to Alabama.
I am looking forward to start the season with all my teammates and Coach Jenny and Shelley, I cannot wait to work hard with all of them and get ready to be one of the toughest teams out there! I am excited to bring my positivity and energy to the team! Roll Tide!!
