Hi Crimson Racket Club!

Here’s your next Alabama Women’s Tennis Summer Update from Moka Ito – a Sophomore from Fukushima, Japan.

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. My name is Moka Ito and I am from Japan. This is my first year at Alabama, I transferred from Western Kentucky University.  I am very excited to play for University of Alabama!  Here is my summer update.  First month of my summer I was in Alabama, taking summer classes.  It was a great time for me because I got to spend some time with coach, trainers and most of my teammates.  I think taking summer session 1 was very beneficial for me because I got to train well and got to experience living on the UA campus.

I completed summer session 1 and I left for Japan to see my family and friends. I went to a festival with some friends and we saw some fireworks, Japanese food., it was beautiful and tasty, I really enjoyed it.

As for tennis, I have been practicing with my Japanese coach and some of my tennis friends. We don’t have any hardcourts in my city so we are playing on artificial grass. It’s very different from hard court, but I don’t mind playing on faster surface. I have been playing a few tournaments as well and done pretty well. Next week I am going to see some relatives and spend some time with them before I get back to UA and get ready for our tennis season. I think we have a great group of girls and can’t wait for our season to start. I hope everyone enjoy their last week with their families before they get back to UA.

Roll Tide!
