Hi Crimson Racket Club!

Here’s your final Alabama Women’s Tennis Summer Update.  Meet our new Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach, Jonatan Berhane.

Hi Bama Tennis Family!

I will introduce myself briefly before I get into my 2018 summer. My name is Jonatan Berhane and I am from Stockholm, Sweden but my parents are from Eritrea. Eritrea is a country of population of 6.5 million people and they speak their native language(Semitic language). I left Sweden at the age of 18, played tennis/received my degrees and fell in love with Coaching while I was a GA. First Head Coaching position was at WKU, were I coached for 4 years and now I have moved on as an assistant coach for Jenny, which I am very excited about.

This summer, I have been working a lot on recruiting and have traveled to Spain(2 times) Sweden(2 tournaments) and Finland. I have watched a lot of tennis this summer and it’s been beneficial to be able to watch players that Jenny and I are recruiting. To actual be at the tournaments and see future prospect student athletes handle match play is really a great resource we have. I have also had the luxury to spend some quality time with my family this summer, my wife Eden and my two kids Zoe and Majkel. We did some traveling to southern part of Sweden and enjoyed it very much.

I am very excited to meet and work with Alba, Andie, Ann, Jacqueline, Kimberley, Kylie, Luca and Moka. We are going to have a great year together!

Roll Tide!

Jonatan Berhane
