Hi Alabama Tennis Friends!

Here’s your next summer update from our Alabama Women’s Tennis Team –  Luca Fabian, Junior from Palhaza, Hungary.

I hope everyone is doing great and enjoying their summer! Mine has been very exciting so far! My teammates and I, Alba and Ann, we love visiting new places So one day, they decided that we should go on a trip after our finals and before summer school starts. I obviously agreed. So fast forward a couple of weeks, and I find myself in one of the busiest cities in America New York, on a 5 days trip. And since we live by the ”go big or go home” slogan we had to top it off with an extra 2 weeks in California.

I loved it! New York was so much fun, but very tiring. We bought a 3 days city pass, so we tried to visit all of the most famous attraction in a short period of time. From 7am until 10pm we were on our feet and walked at least 10 miles a day and we visited museums, the Empire State building, the Liberty Statue and so on. I feel very lucky because I only saw them in the movies before and I always wanted to go. Now I can cross it off my bucket list, thanks to my friends. J It’s nice to share this experiences with them.

Ann invited us to her house in California, and her family was so sweet and the Egyptian food was amazing! I loved the beaches and the ice cream, and the sushi, and the Korean barbeque. Yeah, I/we love eating… Luckily we worked off the excessive amount of food we ate because next to their house they had a tennis club, so we practiced and worked out almost every day.

The trip was amazing, but it was nice to come back to Tuscaloosa for Summer School and restart team practice and get back into a routine.

While I am home for the rest of the summer I will be practicing in Budapest in the Balázs Brothers Tennis Academy. One of the brothers is still playing ATP tournaments and he is top 200 in the world ranking. I am looking forward to working with them until I get back to Tuscaloosa. I am also playing a couple of 15K, 25K and a 100K Tournaments in Hungary, and I plan to go to another one in Italy too. It is going to be a great challenge and I hope to improve my game so I can come back stronger in the fall.  I hope you have a great summer and looking forward to meeting with you all in the fall!   Roll Tide!
